Why “AI-proof” is the wrong question
“Will AI take this job?” can’t be answered with certainty by any data source. What can be measured is exposure: how much of a job’s day-to-day tasks already appear in real AI usage. Low exposure means AI is rarely used for that work today— not that the job is permanently safe.
High exposure, historically, tends to reshape and redistribute tasks rather than delete entire occupations. So the useful move isn’t hunting for a guaranteed-safe title — it’s knowing where your own mix of tasks lands and steering toward work that’s harder to automate.

No job is fully AI-proof. What can be measured is overlap: how much of a job’s tasks show up in real AI usage today. Some occupations have very little overlap right now, but overlap can rise as tools improve, and high overlap historically reshapes work rather than erasing whole jobs.
Which jobs have the least AI exposure today?
Roles built around physical work, hands-on care, and in-person judgment tend to show the lowest observed AI overlap so far. The ranked list on this page is drawn directly from the Anthropic Economic Index and changes as usage data is updated.
Does low AI exposure mean a job is safe?
Not on its own. Low observed exposure means AI is rarely used for that work today — it is not a guarantee about the future, and it says nothing about wages or whether the field is growing. We pair exposure with BLS job outlook so you can see both at once.
